I really want to get rid of my whimpy factory Honda horn and replace them with air horns (specifically http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/di... it has a 4 pronged relay that comes with it and Im no expert (obviously) and was wondering why i cant just use the existing wires and run them directly to the compressor of the air horn. The compressor of the air horn have positive and negative terminals. cant i just put the wires directly to that? Thanks for any help in advance!
How does one install air horns in his automobile?
the air compressor requires a much higher amperage to operate it. that is the purpose of the relay. if you follow the wiring diagram it is not that hard to hook-up. OK take it to a mechanic.
